Winter Events
(December, January & February)

Annual SVCC Fishing Derby
January 20th in Dexter, St. Albans & Hartland lakes.  Event starts at 7am-3pm.  Prizes awarded for largest Brook Trout, Lake Trout & Bass.  $250 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd & $50 for 3rd, plus many more raffle prizes!!  This event is generously sponsored by Hartley’s.
Annual Dysart’s Snowmobile Ride-In to Benefit Pine Tree Camp
February 2-3, Newport Elementary School in Newport, ME.  Newport will be bustling with activity asit hosts the 43rd annual Dysart’s Snowmobile Ride-In to benefit Pine Tree Camp.  Snowmobilers from all corners of the state along with Newport area families, community leaders, volunteers and businesses will enjoy three full days packed with winter fun!  Check out www.pinetreesociety.org for more on raffle items & more!

Maine Maple Sunday-March 26th
The Maine Maple Producers Association welcomes you to join Maine’s Maple Syrup Producers, statewide, as they celebrate Maine Maple Sunday.   Most sugarhouses offer free maple syrup samples and demonstrations on how pure Maine maple syrup is made. Many farms offer games, activities, treats, sugarbush tours, music, and so much more.  Maine Maple Sunday is always the fourth Sunday in March although some sugarhouses are offering events for both Saturday and Sunday. Please be sure to read the description of each sugarhouse to know what times they will be open and the activities they offer.

Memorial Day Parades
Held by the towns of the Sebasticook Valley.  Join us as we salute our veterans at one of the many celebrations and make sure to check local listings for each town!

Bass Tournaments
Sebasticook Lake offers multiple tournaments throughout the summer months.  Contact the Newport Town Office www.newportmaine.net for the current dates and prizes.
4th of July Celebrations
Held by many communities of Sebasticook Valley.  Join us for fireworks and fun!  Check out the local listing for each town!
St. Albans SummerFest

Annual Central Maine Egg Festival
Held July 9-14th in Pittsfield.  This week long festival includes the Kiwanis Karnival, Street Dance, Egglympics, Music, Horseshoe Tournament, Window Painting, Marketplace, Kiddie Parade, the Big Parade, Sidewalk Painting, Artists Display, Quiche/Cheesecake/Pie Contest & much more!!  For more information, visit the Central Maine Egg Festival’s website, www.centralmaineeggfestival.org.
Picataquis Valley Fair
Held in August at the Dover Foxcroft fairgrounds.  The fair features a milking parlor with home-made ice cream, agricultural exhibits, crafts, midway and animal pulling events.  For more information visit the Piscatiquis Valley Fair website, www.piscataquisvalleyfair.com.
Skowhegan State Fair

The American Folk Festival
Held in August on the Bangor waterfront.  This festival is a celebration of multi-cultural tradition arts with music, dance, crafts, food and storytelling.  For more information, visit www.americanfolkfestival.com.
The Riverwalk Festival
The Newport Riverwalk Festival is a celebration of the scenic Newport riverfront. This one-day event, held August 4th, will kick off at 10:00am with a parade through the town, ending at the riverfront. The festival will be fun for the whole family, featuring river activities, local crafts, food vendors, beer tent, music, a street dance, bounce house and other children’s activities, Newport Fire Department barbecue, and much more! The Red Hot Dog Festival
The Maine Red Hot Dog Festival in Dexter Maine is a family friendly event. It is sure to be a day of fun, music and the community.  This fun event is held August 10th, 2019.

Peal Leaf-Peeping Season
Tour our valley during the height of color and stop at one of our many orchards to enjoy the delicious fruits of the season.
Valley of Trees Festival
An event that was designed to be the Sebasticook Valley Chamber’s annual fundraising event.  This exciting holiday fundraiser encourages area businesses to showcase their products or services by decorating an artificial tree with their choice of swag!  Only $2 admission and raffle tickets for the trees are only $.50 each!  For more information, contact Susan at the Chamber @ (207) 368-4698.
