The heart of Maine Resource Center

The Heart of Maine Resource Center was founded in the winter of 2020 to provide support to community members in the greater Dexter area. Piscataquis county is a rural area in Maine where 1 in 5 people and 1 in 3 children experience food insecurity.  We connect community members with the resources they need to thrive.

Our goal is to be a place that connects community members with the resources they need.  Currently, we offer food distribution days each month and home repairs. The first Wednesday of every month we offer food distribution in the municipal parking lot behind the Bangor Savings Bank. We have a drive-thru distribution model. We host Group Workcamps which helps us offer free home repairs to community members. Please contact us to schedule a consultation.
